Shout It Out Is:

A series of three to five theatre workshops to end in a performance to present the material created in the workshops. The purpose of the workshops is to provide a creative outlet for these children to share their hopes, fears, visions, desires, and dreams in a safe and encouraging environment. The final performance is a culmination of what the children have learned and wish to share.

Shout It Out was originally designed for at-risk youth programs, and the material also works great for Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High age levels in public or private schools. The workshop capacity is flexible between 5-25 students at a time and aims to teach tools of empowerment through fun and engaging theatre exercises that inspire a greater sense of self-expression and confidence. By encouraging students to play through storytelling, character work, and awareness building, Shout It Out proves to enhance communication, cooperation, and understanding in relationships.

Shout It Out instructors are all highly trained professional artists in movement, theatre, and improvisation and are motivated to make a difference in the world through their artwork.

What to expect:

The children will participate in theatre games and exercises that engage their imaginations. By participating in these activities and learning the tools of theatre, the instructors playfully guide to explore the possibilities in their lives on the stage. Over the course of the workshops the students will derive powerful characters from their own experiences to depict stories from their lives or invent constructive narratives in ways that empower and encourage them. They will find a new freedom in expressing themselves and develop an expanded awareness in how they relate to the world.
