Shout It Out
Shout It Out
Creatively Sharing Power, Freedom, and Joy with the Community

Shout It Out is a theatre workshop series held for foster children, group homes, detention center and at risk youth programs ending in a performance; also available for in-school residency. The purpose of the workshops is to provide a creative outlet for these children to share their hopes, fears, visions, barriers, desires, and dreams in a safe and encouraging environment.

The children participate in theatre games and creating stories from their dreams and imaginations. Some of the exercises playfully teach the tools of theatre and explore the stories in our lives by interacting with the possibilities of the stage. Over the course of the workshops the children derive powerful characters from their own imagination and experience and depict stories in their lives in ways that empower and encourage them. They will find a new freedom in expressing themselves and develop different perspectives of how they relate to the world.

Shout It Out is in partnership with professional artists who guide this educational process. The final performance is a culmination of what the participants wish to share with the family and friends they choose to invite. Shout It Out is a beautiful opportunity for families to reconnect and get to know one another better while developing the personal power and artistic talent of each participant.
